Lesson 1
What is a stock?
A share in a company
A stock is a small piece of ownership in a business. If you hold one Apple share, you own a tiny part of Apple, including its factories, brands and profits.
Why do companies issue stock?
To raise money without taking out a loan. The company sells shares to many people and uses the money to grow, for example with new products or new markets. In return, a piece of the company now belongs to these investors.
What's in it for you?
Two things: the share price can rise if the company becomes more valuable (you could sell for more). And some companies pay out part of their profit to shareholders as a dividend.
In Kumpano
Here you pick five stocks every week, like a team. The better they do during the week, the higher you climb in your league. No real money is involved, but the prices are real.
Why Kumpano exists
people in Germany aged 14 to 39 own stocks, equity funds or ETFs. This group accounted for 60 percent of the growth in 2025.

Interest in stocks is growing, but getting started is still hard for many. A brokerage account requires your own money, and learning tools are mostly used alone. Kumpano combines a fixed weekly rhythm with friendly competition.
